Staff Technical Support Engineer
Location: Sunnyvale, CA
This position is for the Juniper Level3 (L3) TAC (Technical Assistance Centre) role to support routing products (hardware based, virtualized products), like Mx, ACX and PTX, vMx, cRPD.
This is an individual contributor role. There will be weekend coverage as per roster.
Responsibilities:
Drive critical and complex issues with internal and external stakeholders.Upskill team members by mentoring, trainings etc.Engagement in improvement of products, documentations, processes, tools etc.Work with highly knowledgeable group of customers and partners. Be an escalation point for other TAC groups within the organization.Be a customer advocate for timely resolution of the problems reported, understand the environment/network and impact on business.Be ready to learn new technologies and new products.Participate in cross functional tasks such as new product development projects, create Knowledge Base and Whitepapers.Basic Requirements
Requires B.E. in Electronics Engineering or Computer Science with at least 12+ years of experience in the Networking industry.Troubleshooting, implementation and support of large IP networks (preferably Service Provider)Excellent Customer handling and communication (verbal and written) skills and experience in directly interacting with the global customers.Primary Skills
Thorough understanding (Packet level) of –IP Packet flow, OSI layersLayer 3 - IP and related technologies (ICMP, TCP, IPSec, GRE, QoS, VRRP)IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS , RIP)Layer 2 technologies (Ethernet, 802.1q/p VLAN, STP, RSTP, ARP, PPP, MLPPP, LACP)Experience in PTP/ SyncE protocols.MPLS, VPLS, L2 VPNs, L3 VPN, EVPN, VxLANUnderstanding/Exposure/Expertise in one or more areas –MPLS Traffic Engineering, LDP, RSVP, Segment RoutingMulticast technologies NG-MVPN, PIMPerl/Unix/Expect scriptingPreferred Certifications - JNCIS-SP, JNCIE-SP/DC/ENT or other equivalent certifications.Juniper is an Equal Opportunity workplace and Affirmative Action employer. Minimum Salary: $123,750.00
Maximum Salary:$189,750.00
The pay range for this position is expected to be between $123,750.00 and $189,750.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
