Overview:

We have tremendous opportunities for Staff Accountants to play key roles within our Tax team.  We have openings for candidates residing in and around Rochester, Buffalo, East Aurora, Syracuse, and Albany, New York. As a highly valued member of our Firm, you will work closely with the Tax team to provide timely, accurate, and reliable completion of client engagements. Responsibilities:

Become familiar with the firm’s policies and proceduresLearn the rules, regulations, and code of professional conduct of the AICPABecome familiar with pronouncements of the FASB, AICPA, GAO, and GASBAssist in the preparation of tax returns Demonstrate the ability to identify issues and apply accounting principles Develop positive working relationships with clientsDevelop an ability to effectively respond to questions from supervisors and clients and keep the team lead informed of engagement/project statusEffectively apply technology tools in assigned areasComply with firm practice management and quality control procedures and systemsContribute to fostering an environment of team work, ethics, and Firm values

Qualifications:

Required

A minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting with 150 credit hours qualifying for CPA licensureA minimum of one year of professional full-time experience Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Teams and OutlookAbility and willingness to travel as needed

Preferred

Involvement in professional and/or community organizationsCPA certification or progress towards completion

The salary range for this position is between $59,000 and $65,000 commensurate with experience.

Hours of Operation:

Our office hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through FridayOur summer hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday  We pride ourselves on our flexibility; however the ability to work additional hours will be needed at peak times
