Description Robert Half is currently seeking a Contract Staff Accountant to serve a client in need of experienced financial support. Position Overview: As a Contract Staff Accountant, you'll report to the Accounting Manager and be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, ensuring the integrity of the general ledger, and assisting in creating monthly financial statements. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Key Responsibilities: + Support the monthly close process by preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports. + Reconcile multiple bank accounts against financial records to maintain accuracy. + Assist in the preparation of divisional financial statements and key performance indicators (KPIs). + Conduct reconciliations for fuel volume and inventory transactions. + Manage fixed asset records and related software systems. + Collaborate with the Accounts Payable team to reconcile vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance. + Investigate and provide explanations for fluctuations in general ledger account balances. + Identify opportunities for process improvements and suggest solutions. + Assist in implementing process automation as applicable. Requirements Preferred Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA designation is a plus). + Proven experience in accounting or financial roles. + Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards. + Advanced proficiency in accounting software tools and Microsoft Excel. + Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities. + Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. + Strong attention to detail and a dedication to maintaining ethical practices.
