As a Hotel Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. You will be responsible for managing various accounting functions, preparing financial reports, and providing valuable support to the Finance department. This position requires strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment. **Responsibilities:** + **Financial Reporting:** Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). + **General Ledger Management:** Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions. + **Accounts Payable and Receivable:** Process accounts payable invoices, ensure timely payments to vendors, and manage accounts receivable collections. + **Bank Reconciliation:** Perform timely and accurate reconciliation of bank accounts and credit card statements, identifying and resolving any discrepancies. + **Payroll Processing Support:** Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accuracy of employee records and compliance with relevant regulations. + **Tax Compliance:** Assist in the preparation and filing of local, state, and federal tax returns and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations. + **Budgeting and Forecasting:** Participate in the development and monitoring of the hotel's annual budget and assist with forecasting financial performance. + **Financial Analysis:** Analyze financial data, identify trends and variances, and provide insightful reports to management to support decision-making. + **Internal Controls:** Assist in the implementation and maintenance of effective internal controls to safeguard hotel assets and ensure the accuracy of financial information. + **Audit Support:** Provide necessary documentation and support for internal and external audits. + **Record Keeping:** Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation. + **Communication:** Communicate effectively with other hotel departments and external parties regarding financial matters. + **Ad Hoc Projects:** Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or other management. **Qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. + [Number] years of proven experience in an accounting role, preferably within the hotel or hospitality industry. + Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards. + Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills. + Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. + Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. + Effective communication and interpersonal skills. + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. + Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. + High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Experience with hotel property management systems (PMS) and point-of-sale (POS) systems. + Familiarity with [Specific Accounting Software used by the hotel]. + Progress towards or possession of a relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA).
