Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in San Diego, California. This long-term contract position is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a non-profit organization by managing key financial processes and ensuring accurate reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in accounting operations and a proven ability to work with various financial systems. Responsibilities: • Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently. • Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies. • Maintain and update the general ledger with precise and timely entries. • Prepare and post journal entries as part of the accounting cycle. • Assist in the month-end close process, ensuring all financial records are in order. • Analyze financial data and generate reports to support organizational decision-making. • Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency. • Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP to manage financial records. • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable management. • Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations and maintaining general ledger accuracy. • Strong understanding of journal entries and the month-end close process. • Familiarity with accounting software, including NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP. • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills to address financial discrepancies. • Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations relevant to non-profit organizations. • Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
