Our client is seeking a General Ledger Accountant on a temporary basis to support the accounting team during a critical period. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, detail-oriented, and technologically savvy, with advanced Excel skills and a strong understanding of general ledger functions. Key Responsibilities
+ Manage and maintain general ledger accuracy by preparing and recording journal entries and performing timely reconciliations.
+ Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring financial accounts are accurate and adhere to deadlines.
+ Analyze and resolve discrepancies, investigating variances and identifying root causes.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless flow of financial data and provide necessary documentation during audits.
+ Prepare detailed financial reports and schedules for internal and external reporting purposes.
+ Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, formulas) to analyze large data sets and provide meaningful insights.
+ Support the implementation and upgrading of accounting systems or technologies to improve accounting team efficiencies.
+ Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, intercompany accounts, and balance sheet accounts.
+ Assist with ad hoc financial projects and reporting requests as needed.
Requirements
+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
+ Experience: 4+ years of general ledger accounting experience preferred. Experience in corporate or fast-paced environments is a plus.
+ Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, and formulas) is required. Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite) is highly desirable.
+ Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a sharp focus on accuracy and adhering to deadlines.
+ Tech-Savvy: Able to quickly learn and adapt to evolving financial software and systems.
+ Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to work effectively with team members and stakeholders at various levels.
+ Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze data and processes, identify inconsistencies or inefficiencies, and propose solutions.
+ Work Ethic: Highly self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
