Description
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a temp-to-hire position in Tempe, AZ. This individual will play a key role in supporting the organization's accounting operations, including account reconciliations, financial reporting, and maintaining the general ledger. The ideal candidate must have experience with Great Plains OR Sage and be able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This position offers an opportunity to transition into a permanent role based on performance.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Perform accurate and timely general ledger maintenance, including journal entries and reconciliations.
+ Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
+ Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other accounts to ensure financial accuracy and completeness.
+ Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), ensuring proper coding and documentation.
+ Monitor and analyze financial data to assist with budgeting and forecasting.
+ Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely completions.
+ Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to provide necessary documentation during audits.
+ Stay up-to-date with accounting regulations and compliance requirements.
+ Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes for increased efficiency.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Experience: Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar accounting role is required.
+ Software Proficiency: Advanced working knowledge of Great Plains OR Sage accounting software.
+ Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard office tools.
+ Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience working in industries such as manufacturing, construction, healthcare, or professional services.
+ Familiarity with analyzing financial statements and creating reports for leadership teams.

+ Must be able to pass a background check prior to employment.
+ This is a temp-to-hire position, offering potential for permanent placement based on performance.
