Staff Accountant
Description Hiring a Staff Accountant to support financial operations and reporting for our Houston-based Accounting team. This role focuses on used machinery sales, inventory reconciliation, and financial analysis for internal departments and partnership entities. + Perform costing and inventory reconciliations for Used Machinery sales + Report and file Heavy Equipment Inventory Tax (HEIT) and Motor Vehicle Inventory Tax (MVIT) monthly + Reconcile Accounts Receivable, Notes Receivable, and Bad Debt Allowance accounts + Maintain and reconcile Miscellaneous Accruals + Handle accounting for select partnership entities + Prepare monthly gross profit and expense analysis for Used Machinery and partnership divisions + Assist with general ledger, internal reporting, and month-end close activities + Support financial analysis and audit preparation as needed Skills Accounting, General ledger, Reconciliation, Month end, Journal entry, Reporting, Financial statement, ERP, Balance sheet, Financial reporting, Finance, Bank reconciliation, Pivot table Additional Skills & Qualifications Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience Bachelor's Degree in Accounting - MUST be an accredited university Doesn't want someone from a construction background - retail accounting preferred Strong reconciliation and financial analysis abilities Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel Must have experience with XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and data analysis Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Houston, TX.
