Summary
DataPath, Inc. is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant. This role has primary responsibility for maintaining the general ledger, recording journal entries, performing account reconciliations, maintaining fixed asset management, month close and year-end close responsibilities, and supporting the Assistant Controller and Corporate Controller in any accounting or reporting function as needed. In conjunction with the Assistant Controller and Corporate Controller, this role shares responsibility for maintaining an accounting system that properly reflects the financial position of the company, applies Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, follows department policies and procedures, implements improvements and SOX controls, and serves as a resource in all aspects of accounting.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Assumes primary responsibility for the timely recording of journal entries, completion of account reconciliations, payroll reconciliations, and maintenance of fixed asset records. Assists with effective preparation, maintenance, and reporting of internal and external financial records and analyses. Assists with preparing daily, monthly, annual, and other periodic financial statements and reports. Assists during the annual audit. Assists in assuring that accounting records and reports are in compliance with GAAP and government regulations. Cooperates with and assists external auditors as appropriate. Completes reports and analyses of departmental and area operations as requested by Management. Assists in implementing and maintaining SOX internal controls. Completes special accounting projects as assigned. Other accounting and finance duties as needed.
