Check out this video for more information on our great company! Location Description The Boston Harbor Hotel is Boston’s premier waterfront hotel, where luxury service is personal. All candidates must display superior service orientation, be willing to learn and work as part of our team. Due to the nature of our business, schedule flexibility is required for all positions. Overview KEY RESPONSIBILTIES The primary responsibilities for the Staff Accountant will include but are not limited to: Manage the accounts receivable process, including billing, collections, and recording of payments. Audit daily revenue posting accuracy and operating system transactions. Prepare and post journal entries. Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes. Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements. Monitor and reconcile inventory, and other balance sheet accounts. Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and policy/procedure control. Cross-Train with other accounting functions to support and understand accounts payable, income journal, and payroll functions. Provide support and guidance as a team member of the accounting/financial department. Respond to external guest calls and inquiries. Assist with other special projects or tasks as assigned by Director of Finance or Accounting Manager. Qualifications JOB QUALIFICATIONS In addition to performance of key responsibilities and supportive functions, this position may be required to possess a combination of the following skills and experiences: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality industry. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good organizational and time-management skills, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
