We are currently looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Chicago-based Family Office team.

What you’ll do in this role: 

Perform daily General Ledger functions such as bank account reconciliation, recording real estate property activity, booking depreciation, and income and expense accruals Assist with preparation of financial statements and analytics Maintain rent rolls and schedule of lease terminations/renewals Prepare invoices for payment and record corresponding entry in the General Ledger Assist in project budgets, track expenses incurred, and sustain open lines of communication with all parties involved Retain schedule of property taxes due and ensure payments are made on a timely basis Calculate CAM expenses and submit invoices for payment Prepare and submit payroll through ADP Respond to requests from regulators and external auditors Lead ad-hoc projects and create ad-hoc reports as needed

What you’ll need for this role: 

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with Quickbooks preferred, but not required Strong organization skills and detail orientation Ability to prioritize, multitask and effectively manage changing priorities Maturity; proven ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion
