Staff Accountant

Location Requirements:This role is Hybrid and candidates can expect to work in the Wayne, PA corporate office up to 2X times week.  This role is based in the Eastern Time Zone. 

Your role on the team: 

The Staff Accountant reports to the Accounting Operations Manager and is part of the Accounting team. The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining and controlling the General Ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records.  

You can expect to: 

Assist the Accounting Operations Manager with day-to-day, monthly and year-end operations of the Accounting department.  Review the cash application of customer payment performed by another department to ensure accuracy to the bank records.  Perform the processing of expense allocations, assist in the calculation of Cap Software, fixed assets depreciation and recording of adjusting and reclassification of journal entries, if necessary.  Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements and fixed assets.  Prepare monthly financial statement flux analysis.  Enter vendor invoices into the ERP system and assist user base in entering purchase orders.  Approve employee expense reports according to policy.  Assist with sales and use tax compliance.  Establish records of accounts and input entries into the proper accounts.  Document and ensure proper keeping of financial records.  Establish and maintain effective internal control procedures.  Assist with annual external audit as necessary. 

What you bring to the role (nice-to-haves):  

Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.  Strong attention to detail and record keeping.  Ability to work in a team environment as well as individually with little supervision.  Ability to communicate with all levels of management with professionalism.  Capability to work cross-functionally with individuals across the organization.  Able to prioritize work and pivot as necessary in a fast-paced environment.  Solid interpersonal skills and emotional maturity demonstrated as poise, tact and diplomacy.  Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.  NetSuite or Concur experience would be a plus. 

This role requires (must-haves):  

1-2 years of accounting experience required.  Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.  Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or similar area  A positive attitude and a willingness to learn
