Specific duties will encompass budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, commissions, sales order verification/confirmation, Internal Control audit functions, journal entries, reconciliations, cost/variance/financial analysis, and standard cost development. This position will assist with cost accounting, inventory, and month-end/year-end closing. Provide staff and SLT management, accurate and timely information and reporting that will assist them in monitoring performance to reach company established goals and objectives. Complete assigned projects by the SBU Controller.
In addition to broad accounting knowledge, the incumbent should possess some familiarity with or have the skills and the ability to learn to become familiar with the accounting and ERP manufacturing processes systems. A comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint are required. The Staff Accountant communicates with several levels of personnel both verbally and in writing, so these skills must be effective. Must have strong interpersonal skills.
Provide cost/variance/financial analysis, invoicing, sales order verification/confirmation, and support to Sage management Ensure prompt month-end closing, compile & enter journal entries, perform reconciliations, commissions, and issue management reports Participate in continuous improvement efforts/WCM/Loss Deployment, budgeting, forecasting, customer credit/collections, tax certificates, and standard cost development Undertake project work assigned by BU Controller which includes multiple projects covering varying accounting needs of facility; as well as participation with physical inventory counts Provide non-routine accounting information to SBU Controller & Operational Management Product Structures (BOM) and Routings QAD Accounting Package Ability to develop & conduct training sessions for both groups & individuals Develop processes & procedures to ensure alignment of internal controls (ICRF) in a complex organization Proactive approach – provides what is needed before being asked Project Management – execution oriented and rigorous in meeting performance commitments Experience in manufacturing environment, cycle-counting & physical inventory knowledge Cash generation & highlighting opportunities to improve cash Ability to work closely with internal and external customers while maintaining necessary confidentiality and control of financial data Ability to work independently, follow instructions and complete tasks, asking questions as appropriate
