**Virgin Galactic is seeking a** **Staff Accountant to join the team** **.** **The primary** **role** **for the** **Staff** **Accountant** **will be to provide** **Accounting** **support for both the finance team and a broad range of teammate “customers” who rely on timely and accurate accounting support and financial information. The individual will perform a flexible range of activities. This role will be responsible for performing a portion of the monthly accounting close process and select financial reporting. If you’re the type of person** **who** **obsesses over details and thrives in a collaborative,** **fast** **-** **paced start up environment, Virgin Galactic may be** **the** **place for you.** **The position resides in our Las Cruces, NM facility.** + Preparejournalentriescompletewith necessarysupporting documentation and schedules + Prepareaccountreconciliationsforbalancesheetaccountson a monthly basis + Review and record daily cash transactions to the appropriate general ledger accounts + Assistin performingtechnicalaccounting research to determineappropriatetreatmentfor a variety of transactionsunderUSGAAP & IFRS + Preparesupporting schedules for useinfinancialstatementsandfootnotedisclosures. + Assistin providing criticalfinancialinformation to otherteammateswithin and outside of Finance + Assistin coordinating theannualfinancialstatementauditand working with our externalauditors on variousaccounting issuesasneeded + Assistin thecontinued implementation and development of our OracleERP + Performdataextractionsandpreparereports to supportfinancialstatements + Assistin generalprocessimprovementsandprocessdocumentationforallfacetsoftheaccounting cycleaswellasthecontinueddevelopmentand documentationofouraccountingpoliciesand procedures + Cultivateinternalrelationsatalllevelsbyproviding supportand a high level of customerservice + Performvariousprojectssuch asresearch,specialprojects & analysisasneeded + Ad hoc projectsasdirected **Requires Skills and Experience** + Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or CPA eligible is a plus + Minimum 1 year public accounting preferred, or mix of public and private experience + Strong financialanalysis skills + Possessstrongknowledge of accounting rules or theabilitytoperformresearch to properlyinterpretanddeterminetheappropriateaccounting treatment for common transactions + Demonstratedexperiencewithaccounting systemsand practices.Oracleexperience a plus + Abilitytopresentand explain financialdataand analysistoboth financeand non-financeaudiences + Strongtimemanagementskillsessential; Flexiblewith theability to multitask + Proficiencyinall MS Officeapplications,especially Excel + Mustbeinquisitiveand able to solveproblemscreatively + Exemplarywrittenand oralcommunication skillsrequired + Creative and proactive,with a keen eyefordetail and shows initiativetosolveproblemsand deliversolutions + Abilitytoworkunderpressureand with ‘on thespot’priority situationsin a quickand effectivemanner + Able to learn quicklyand grasp theprojectandoperationaldetails + Willingnessand ability totravelifrequired (minimal) \#LI-LN The annual U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $67,500.00–$97,950.00. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, and experience and take into account internal equity.
