Staff Accountant

Overview:

The primary function of the Staff Accountant includes include balancing, processing, and posting of daily revenues as needed, maintaining and posting journal entries, backing up accounts payable functions, and assisting with the period-end procedures. This position requires the candidate to analyze and reconcile all general ledger accounts and bank statements to ensure financial information is readily available and accurate.

 

Additional functions include balancing and reconciling tax accounts for our portfolio of centralized hotels, completing tax filings, including on-line payments and checks, ensuring all proper documentation is received from the hotels for tax exemptions, and working with the Controllers on all tax related matters. 

 

The Staff Accountant will monitor and coordinate the timely implementation and maintenance of information flow from/to the hotels. Ensure smooth operations by training and resolving issues in the accounting processes. 


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure excellent customer service to the properties and corporate officesWeekly balancing and reconciling of cash, all ledger accounts & tax accountsCompleting and filing of tax returns in a timely mannerEnsuring proper support for all tax exemptionsWorking with the property teams to ensure compliance for all Federal and State policies related to taxesWorking with the property teams to ensure compliance with all Crestline SOP’s related to accounting, finance and taxesWorking with the auditors, the properties, and centralized team on any external auditsPosting of journal entries as directed by the ControllerBalancing, processing, and posting of daily revenues as needed for centralized hotelsComplete balance sheet reconciliations as directed by ControllerComply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basisPerform other job related duties as assigned

 

Education and Experience:

College Degree preferred; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the above skills, knowledge and abilities. Experience working with both branded and independent hotels and resorts is preferable.

 

Other requirements:

Strong computer literacy with leading software programs including Office.Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) enabling one to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels inside and outside the company.Must possess strong organizational skills in order to facilitate setting and managing priorities and dealing with a multitude of issues at one time.Ability to work independently.
