Staff Accountant

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Working under supervision of manager, performs accounting functions for Alliance Residential, including job cost accounting for assigned projects, bank reconciliations, journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. Posts and records monthly entries in accounting software. Assists in monthly draw process for assigned portfolio. Completes bank reconciliations and records all banking activity. Completes monthly general ledger account analysis and loan reconciliation as needed. Prepares reimbursements to affiliates entities and projects. Prepares billing for accounting, asset management, and overhead reimbursements and fees. Prepares allocation/reimbursement entries to post to accounting system. Prepares monthly financial statements and supporting schedules. Assists with ad hoc projects and other tasks as needed Make recommendations and modifications regarding office performance, business needs, etc. Any other tasks assigned or directed.WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Bachelor or Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Previous experience with cash and accrual accounting preferred Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Effective organizational and time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills. Accurate and detail oriented. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and relate effectively, productively, and positively with other Associates. Knowledge of or ability to learn Construction accounting processes, including use of any industry specific software. Typing and data entry skills. Ability to use a 10-key calculator accurately by touch. Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and accounting systems, including job cost systems. Ability to have flexibility with working schedule based on business and deadline needs. Ability to work a schedule during normal work hours and that may be other than Monday-Friday, 8-5.
