Hiring Immediately for Staff Accountant Annual Starting Salary $85,000-$95,000

OVERVIEW:  The Staff Accountant supports the Director of Finance in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance/Accounting Department.  To relieve the Director of Finance of certain responsibilities that will allow them to spend a greater portion of their time on Financial Statement preparation and analysis, Budget and Variance issues, and Forecasting.  The position will assist with the growth and responsibilities of the department.  The position will have interaction with all levels of management and all departments of the organization and outside customers/vendors. RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare and analyze account reconciliations:Revenue & FareboxUtilitiesFuelOthersAssist with sales tax preparation.Assist with budget preparation and prepare revenue and expense projections.Review of monthly revenue reporting for accuracy.Ad Hoc Analysis as needed.Monthly G/L closes.Preparation of various agency reports on a periodic basis.Assist with our Federal and State Grant Administration.Assist with other duties and projects, as assigned.Assist with accounts payable/receivable, vendor files, preparing journal entries, month end close reports. QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a Bachelor’s degree in business with emphasis in accounting, or equivalent external work experience.CPA preferred but not requiredMinimum 3 years of accountant experienceAbility to set priorities, multi-task, meet critical deadlines and pay attention to detail.Strong analytical, problem solving and communications skills are required.Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data.Must be highly skilled in use of MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.Must understand and practice confidentiality of information.Strong communication and interpersonal skills in order to interact with all levels of personnel including senior management.Must have a willingness to work the necessary hours to complete the job, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  The physical demands described here are representatives of those that must be met by the employee to successful perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individual with disabilities to perform the essential functions.100% of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilities.Work is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen. PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: Must submit to drug testing and aAbout Transdev: Transdev Services Inc. is the largest private sector operator of various modes of passenger transit in North America.
