Cleaver Brooks is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Thomasville, GA. The Staff Accountant is responsible for providing accounting and financial reporting support for the corporate office. This includes understanding and supporting Corporate Accounting through overall management of the general ledger, accounting issues, detail analysis and presentation of financial data, preparation and recording of journal entries, preparation and review of monthly account reconciliations, and other similar activities or ad hoc requests.

Essential functions:
Assist with month, quarter and year-end close processes Prepare assigned monthly account reconciliations Assist with monthly spending variance analysis, including research, documentation and communication of spending variances Assist in the daily maintenance of the corporate general ledger to ensure accuracy and consistency with Company policy and compliance with GAAP Support peers and management with internal and external projects Assist with audit preparation and pulling required requests and documentation Assist in day-to-day maintenance of ledger accounts Performs other duties as assignedOther Duties:
Internal Contacts: Extensive contact with internal sales staff, customers, and vendors.
External Contacts: Extensive contact with external sales staff, customers, and vendors.
Basic Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree with major in accounting or finance required
Experience: 3-5 years of experience required, with accounting, finance or related field.
