Job Title: Staff AccountantJob Description
This position is responsible for performing a variety of accounting duties to ensure accurate and timely completion of work within the Finance Department. The role actively supports the achievement of the company by performing higher-level accounting duties and responsibilities. Additionally, the staff accountant will promote and protect core values, including teamwork and respect for others, to maintain a positive work environment, while building and maintaining positive working relationships within the department, the division, and the company through professional interactions.
Responsibilities
+ Perform month-end and year-end close for the assigned divisions.
+ Prepare financial statements, including Balance Sheets and Income Statements.
+ Reconcile General Ledger accounts and investigate any unreconciled differences.
+ Prepare journal entries, including proper General Ledger account, department, division, and project cost coding.
+ Maintain monthly amortization schedules.
+ Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and investigate any unreconciled differences.
+ Calculate monthly sales commissions.
+ Assist in the preparation of annual budgets (sales and expense).
+ Complete other government forms as assigned.
+ Assist various other departments with accounting-related issues (e.g., G/L coding questions).
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
+ Minimum of three years of experience in Accounting.
+ Proficiency in SAP is a plus.
+ Strong computer skills and the ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
+ Ability to create and/or maintain Excel spreadsheets using formulas.
+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to meet deadlines.
+ Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
+ Attention to detail is a must.
+ Experience with multiple entities is a plus.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Proficiency in journal entries, general ledger, month-end close process, year-end close, bank reconciliations, and account reconciliations.
+ Experience with financial statements (Balance Sheets and Income Statements) and fixed assets (Amortization schedules).
+ Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and vlookups.
+ Experience with ERP systems like SAP, but open to others.
+ Industry experience is open.
+ Experience with manipulating large data sets.
Work Environment
The work environment is fully onsite with no flexibility. The team consists of nine members, including the Director and Supervisor. The company size is between $100M and $300M.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72000.00 - $77000.00
