Staff Accountant
Description Job Title: Staff Accountant Location: San Mateo County Company: A leading biotech R & D company Job Description: We are looking to permanent an organized, detail-oriented Staff Accountant. In this role, you will uphold our financial procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and contribute to our budgeting process. Responsibilities: Prepare journal entries, maintain and reconcile ledger accounts. Provide monthly, quarterly and year-end operational statistics and reports. Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable. Assist in the budgeting process. Perform monthly and quarterly accretion calculations. Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization. Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures. Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance. Support month-end and year-end close process. Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred. Proven experience as a financial accountant, financial controller, accounting supervisor, or senior accountant. In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Experience with all aspects of accounting and financial management within the biotech R & D field. Advanced computer skills Microsoft Excel. Attention to detail and ability to make quick decisions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
