Staff Accountant
Description We are in the process of enlisting a Staff Accountant to be an integral part of our team within the healthcare and social assistance industry in Escondido, California. The Staff Accountant will be pivotal in handling customer applications, maintaining detailed customer records, and addressing customer inquiries. The role also involves customer account supervision and taking the necessary action. Responsibilities • Uphold the effective and efficient operation of billing workflow procedures. • Prepare monthly journal entries in alignment with accepted accounting principles. • Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules. • Execute monthly balance sheet and expense account reconciliations, including researching and resolving items, and evaluating current procedures. • Support the full-cycle accounts payable personnel during high volume periods or to cover scheduled PTO. • Receive, sort, and prepare invoices for processing, ensuring accurate general ledger coding and obtaining appropriate approval for payment. • Record and process daily operating and philanthropy monetary deposits. • Act as the accountant for the medical group entity, managing bills and maintaining a separate set of accounting records. • Contribute to interim and year-end financial statement audit testing, including preparing schedules and gathering documents. • Ensure that accounting workpapers and schedules are consistently and professionally formatted, with clear and thorough documentation. • Prepare bi-weekly mileage reimbursements for payroll and A/P. • Adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures. • Define and implement internal controls to ensure the safeguarding of assets. • Identify and seek opportunities for process improvements. • Assist with various ad-hoc projects and accounting analyses as requested. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Staff Accountant or similar role in the Healthcare, Hospitals, or Social Assistance industry • Proficient in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) • Demonstrated experience in performing Bank Reconciliations • Solid understanding of the General Ledger, including maintenance and review • Proven ability to prepare and record Journal Entries accurately • Experience in performing Month End Close tasks in a timely and efficient manner Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
