Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant located in Madison, Alabama. As a Staff Accountant, you will be integral to the restructuring of our department and will contribute to our growth trajectory. Responsibilities: • Manage and oversee fleet-related tasks such as fuel cards, vehicle tagging, billing, and maintenance upkeep • Assist with Accounts Receivable (AR) functions and serve as a backup for Accounts Payable (AP) • Conduct financial reporting and perform accruals to ensure accurate financial records • Utilize software like Oracle and NetSuite for various accounting tasks • Handle bank reconciliations and journal entries as part of month-end close procedures • Maintain accurate records and process customer credit applications efficiently • Resolve customer inquiries and monitor customer accounts for necessary action Requirements • Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required • Proficiency in performing Bank Reconciliations is essential • Experience with General Ledger is necessary • Ability to manage Journal Entries accurately and efficiently is needed • Familiarity with Month End Close procedures is required • Knowledge of NetSuite and Oracle financial software is a plus • Previous experience in Fleet management is beneficial • Experience in the Environmental industry is preferred • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team is required • Attention to detail, with an ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines is necessary • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
