**Description**
John Tillman is looking for a Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will oversee month-end processes, review journal entries and account reconciliations, perform financial analysis, and assist with financial statement preparation and reporting. This position will act as a liaison to internal and external auditors and will work on special projects as requested.

**_Responsibilities:_**
+ Oversee and assist in the month-end close process
+ Review postings and reconciliation of intercompany accounts, tying GL to corporate detail
+ Review and approve account reconciliations and journal entries prepared by team
+ Review AR reserve calculations and recommend adjustments to reserve
+ Review inventory obsolescence reserves and recommend adjustments
+ Calculate and report metrics related to sales, inventory, DPO, DSO, and other KPIs as needed; recommend additional metrics for internal and external reporting
+ Determine import costs including tariff, duty, freight, other and update inventory values; work with carriers and internal team to capture costs accurately
+ Lead, develop & document accounting procedures utilizing accounting team members
+ Initiate and oversee fixed asset audit and confirm assets on hand match records
+ Prepare 1099s and property tax filings for CA, IN, and GA locations
+ Review sales tax and Canada GST tax prior to submission
+ Review commission and rebate calculations; confirm customer contract files are complete
+ Oversee annual physical inventory and weekly cycle counts; work with finance and warehouse teams to improve physical count results and counting processes
+ Prepare month-end, half-year, and year-end financials and variance analysis
+ Prepare Half-Year and Year-End Financial submissions and reporting
+ Oversee and review year-end tax reporting
+ Upload monthly financial records to HFM and submit TM1 detail to corporate; reconcile the two as needed
+ Maintain Financial Records and ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded.
+ Analyze TB accounts to predict future revenue and expense and update accruals as needed
+ Work with Controller in budget preparation and analysis
+ Act as liaison for external and internal auditors
+ Complete year-end tax schedules for corporate
+ Assist with other corporate accounting duties, special projects, and analysis as directed by Management
**_Requirements:_**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
+ Five+ years accounting experience required
+ Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point
+ Sage and Hyperion Reporting Software experience a plus, ability to learn new systems quickly
+ Excellent communication and organizational skills
+ Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
+ Working knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and Internal Control framework requirements
+ Understanding of cost accounting and import cost calculations preferred
+ Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
+ Strong analytical skills, must be detail oriented
+ Able to work additional hours during month end and occasionally as needed
+ Must be high energy and self-motivated
Tillman salary range: $90k-$100K based on experience, education, and geographic location.
