Staff Accountant

Job Duties

Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations Reconcile and balancing general ledger accounts Research and correct account discrepancies Maintain and update the monthly close schedule and parts of WIP meeting preparation Process cost allocations Perform monthly bank reconciliations, including the recording of various journal entries Prepare and file business licenses renewal for the company Review and process employee expense reports for proper coding Manage the company’s purchase card, record accurate transactions to accounting software, reconcile statements, resolve discrepancies or disputes related to purchase card Set up new jobs, upload\interface budget breakdowns and SOV to the ERP system Process project WIP related adjustments Process and record monthly Intercompany transactions Maintain and update fixed asset system (Bloomberg), prepare journal entries of depreciation and reconcile GL to Bloomberg Maintain and update lease accounting system (CoStar), prepare journal entries, add\retire lease and reconcile GL to CoStar Assist with internal and external audits Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Attributes

Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Demonstrates effective communication and problem-solving skills Attention to detail and accuracy Proficiency in Excel and familiar with accounting software (i.e. Vista) Ability to identify and improve current process for efficiency (i.e. automation) Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (or equivalent) required 3-5 years’ staff accountant experience (with the construction industry preferred) Ability to accommodate tight month-end and year-end close to meet parent company reporting deadlines

Compensation Range: $75,000 – $95,000
