Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the Energy/Natural Resources industry, located in Honolulu, Hawaii. As a Staff Accountant, your primary role will be to support the financial operations of the company by ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records in a timely manner. Responsibilities • Accurately preparing and posting daily recurring and month-end journal entries, along with supporting schedules and reconciliations. • Coordinating with the Accounts Payable department to prepare payment requests and ensure their timely and accurate submissions. • Collaborating with internal team members to resolve issues related to assigned tasks and maintaining effective communication channels. • Assisting other accountants as required, contributing to a collaborative and efficient workflow within the accounting team. • Processing customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency. • Maintaining accurate records of customer credit. • Taking appropriate action to monitor customer accounts. • Ensuring the proper use of accounting software systems and enterprise resource planning. • Balancing sheet accounts and auditing as necessary. • Utilizing Great Plains Accounting and Excel for various tasks. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential. • Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is required. • Must have a strong understanding of Accounting Functions. • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) is necessary. • Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR) is needed. • Must have skills in Auditing. • Must be able to manage Balance Sheet Account. • Proficiency in Great Plains Accounting is a plus. • Must be able to handle Journal Entries. • Proficiency in Excel is required.
