Description We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our team in the hospitality industry, based in Las Vegas, Nevada. This role will be centered around managing and overseeing accounting activities at a corporate level, including the development accounting for new properties. Responsibilities: • Conducting bank reconciliations to ensure financial integrity • Maintaining and updating the general ledger on a regular basis • Preparing journal entries and ensuring their accuracy • Overseeing the month-end close process to ensure timely financial reporting • Ensuring compliance with GAAP accounting principles and standards • Preparing for and pursuing a CPA certification as part of career progression • Applying knowledge and experience in public accounting to corporate accounting tasks • Conducting balance sheet reconciliation to confirm financial accuracy and completeness • Participating in the planning and execution of accounting activities for the company's expansion into new locations • Aiming for internal progression and promotion within the department through consistent performance and skill development. Requirements • Applicant must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role. • Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations is required. • Must have a solid understanding and working knowledge of the General Ledger. • Experience in making journal entries is mandatory. • The candidate should be adept at conducting Month End Close activities. • Knowledge of GAAP Accounting principles is essential. • Possession of a CPA certification is desirable. • Prior experience in Public Accounting is a plus. • Skills in Balance Sheet Reconciliation are crucial for this role.
