Description We are on the hunt for a meticulous Staff Accountant to be part of our team based in Santa Barbara, California. In this role, you will contribute to the smooth running of the finance department by performing various accounting and administrative tasks. Your core duties will encompass the reconciliation of various accounts, managing accounts payable and receivable, and executing a range of administrative support functions. Responsibilities: • Oversee the entry of daily cash receipts • Conduct weekly reconciliations for bank and investment accounts • Manage the processing of accounts payable on a weekly basis, including GL coding and vendor account maintenance • Perform monthly calculations and reporting for grants • Process monthly credit card expenses and expense reports • Assist in the development, tracking, and reporting of budgets • Maintain the schedule for fixed assets and computer replacements • Support the month-end close process • Conduct financial analysis as required • Aid in preparing budgets and forecasts • Draft financial reports as needed • Ensure weekly reconciliation between the database (Raiser’s Edge) and QuickBooks • Maintain the security and fees of the payment platform • Support the processing of fundraising gifts • Handle the maintenance of business insurance • Oversee compliance with state charity registration • Serve as the primary contact for matters related to the organization's facilities or leases • Ensure compliance with multi-state payroll tax • Administer employee benefits and manage 401(k) reporting compliance • Prepare 1099 and other tax forms as required.
