JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary:

The Transactional Accounting Staff Accountant is a key member of the Accounting and Finance Department and will work closely with Treasury, AP/AR, and key Accounting and FP&A areas. The Staff Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager, and will be responsible for account reconciliations, posting journal entries, facilitating audit, and month end close process.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and capital expenditure schedulesPrepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principlesProvides financial support, including forecasting, budgeting and analyzing variations from budgetAnalyzes and prepares statutory accounts, financial statements and reportsConducts or assists in the documentation of accounting projectsApplies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.Full use and application of standard principles, theories, concepts and techniquesProvides resolution to an assortment of problems of moderately complex scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factorsExercises judgement within defined policies, procedures and practices to determine appropriate actionBuilds productive internal and/or external working relationships

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance/Related fields1-3 Years of experience in general accounting activitiesExperience with general month end close process (bank reconciliation, posting journal entries)Experience with ERP System; preferably OracleExcellent verbal and written communication skills
