Description We are offering a permanent employment opportunity in Houston, Texas for a Staff Accountant. Working within our dynamic CPA firm, you will provide vital accounting services and assist in tax return preparation. You will also support in the creation of financial statements and conduct regular checks and reconciliations. This role will also involve some administrative duties. Responsibilities: • Generate financial statements in line with GAAP • Deliver after-the-fact accounting services, including examination of financial records and report generation • Execute month-end closing procedures meticulously and accurately • Conduct regular checks and reconciliations on the general ledger • Provide assistance in internal and external auditing processes • Prepare tax returns punctually and accurately, ensuring client compliance • Participate in the creation of budgets and financial forecasts • Uphold legal and organizational accounting policies and procedures • Undertake various administrative tasks as required Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) processes, with the ability to manage and track company expenses. • Experience in Accounts Receivable (AR) management, including invoicing, collections, and revenue recognition. • Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations to ensure financial records are accurate. • Experience in managing and updating the General Ledger, including posting adjustments and reconciling accounts. • Demonstrated ability to prepare and record Journal Entries in accordance with GAAP. • Experience in conducting Month End Close processes, including preparing financial statements and reports. • Proficiency in using QuickBooks for various accounting tasks and financial management. • Familiarity with Sage Timberline Software and ability to use it for accounting and business management purposes.
