Staff Accountant
Staff Accountant Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for daily metric reporting for sales, supporting the day-to-day operational activities of accounts payable functions, and ensuring accurate processing of invoices and payments. This role involves performing various banking functions, preparing financial and sales reports, posting journal entries for month-end close, and preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations. The Staff Accountant will also support interim and annual financial statement audits and provide updated reports on Accounts Receivable balances as needed. Responsibilities + Daily metric reporting for sales + Support the day-to-day operational activities of accounts payable functions + Review purchase orders, statements, and invoices to verify amounts owed and record and process payments for debts owed by the organization + Perform banking functions including positive pay uploads, exceptions, ACH, and other payments + Prepare financial and sales reports + Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close + Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations + Perform accounting research and determine the correct application + Identify, suggest, and implement process improvements + Support interim and annual financial statement audits + Provide updated reports on Accounts Receivable balances on a regular schedule and as requested + Perform any other duties or responsibilities as requested Essential Skills + 3-5 years of experience in accounting + Experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Bank Reconciliations + ERP experience (preferably Macola) + Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Finance considered) Additional Skills & Qualifications + 1-5 years of experience in an accounting/analysis role + Understanding of internal controls and accrual accounting + Customer service skills, written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills + Ability to work independently and as part of a team + Critical thinking and organizational skills + Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel + Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver assignments on time Work Environment This position is based in a small office with a total of 40 employees on site. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the accounting manager and interact with all other departments as well as external vendors and customers. The work environment fosters collaboration and offers opportunities for increased responsibility over time. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $36.00/hr.
