Staff Accountant
Description A client of ours who is a small but rapidly growing remodeling company dedicated to transforming spaces and delivering exceptional results for our clients. We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team and play a key role in keeping our financial operations running smoothly. As our Staff Accountant, you will oversee day-to-day accounting functions and maintain accurate financial records. You’ll perform critical tasks such as managing accounts payable and receivable, processing payroll, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end close activities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on role within a dynamic small business environment. Key Responsibilities: + Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions accurately and on schedule. + Conduct bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. + Prepare and post journal entries to ensure proper accounting of expenses and income. + Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including financial reporting. + Manage payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees. + Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis as needed. + Collaborate with leadership to evaluate financial trends and provide insights to support decision-making. + Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and reporting requirements. + Maintain and organize financial records for internal and external audits. + Utilize accounting software tools (e.g., QuickBooks, ERP) to optimize reporting and tracking functions. Requirements Key Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. + 1–3 years of accounting experience (construction or remodeling industry experience is a plus). + Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. + Strong knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP compliance, and financial reporting. + Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. + Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities within deadlines. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration. Preferred Qualifications: + CPA certification or working toward CPA is a plus. + Familiarity with job costing practices and ERP systems. + Experience in the construction, remodeling, or real estate industries.
