Overview

The Staff Accountant prepares and review financial documents, reports, and statements. The position is responsible for a variety of accounting procedures (e.g. reconciliation of bank accounts and other general ledger accounts, capitalization of fixed assets, month-end closures, analyses, etc.).  Advises on general financial matters.

Essential Job Functions

Utilizes  GAAP knowledge and associated accounting skills to ensure the achievement of timely and accurate monthly and quarterly financial statements.  Handles month-end activities and creates journal entries Reconciles bank accounts on a monthly basis Performs various other General Ledger account reconciliations and/or analyses Accounting, reporting and timely capitalization of fixed assetsResearches, reports, and remits unclaimed property to various states Compiles various data using Microsoft Excel as requested by management Assists with internal and/or external audits Meets deadlines set by managementCommunicates with co-workers, management, and/or others in a courteous and professional manner Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and/or instructions Other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance Requires a minimum of 1 year of Accounting/General Ledger ExperienceKnowledge of Stone River (FiServ) accounting software, Bloomberg Tax and ProLease software a plusAdvanced knowledge of GAAPAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft ExcelProficient in Microsoft Suite (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, etc.)Ability to work independentlyDetail-oriented and ability to multi-taskTime management, prioritization, and organization skillsInterpersonal and communication skillsCommitment to Acceptance’s company values Able to lift 0-10 pounds without assistance
