Description
We are offering a contract for a permanent employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in EVERETT, Washington. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions and will work closely with various departments to provide financial support.
Responsibilities
• Manage the process of month-end close and schedule deadlines
• Create and post adjusting journal entries regularly
• Record and maintain depreciation schedules for fixed assets
• Ensure balance sheet accounts and schedules are reconciled and maintained
• Conduct monthly bank reconciliations for payroll and operations
• Provide support during the annual budget process, including variance reporting and inquiries
• Serve as a back-up for bi-monthly payroll and address employee inquiries
• Assist with the annual audit in coordination with the Controller and CFO
• Effectively communicate financial information to management at all levels within the organization
• Uphold thorough and accurate files and documentation in line with company policy and GAAP
• Assist with the review of AP & AR data entry transactions
• Collaborate with Contract Compliance Manager on reporting and deliverables
• Calculate and record all In-Kind transactions
• Provide back-up support to Accounting Manager when necessary
• Handle other duties as assigned
• Offer back-up support to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Revenue Invoicing staff as needed
• Support the organization's mission through assisting or leading special projects.
Requirements • Applicants must hold a minimum of 2 years' experience in a staff accountant role or similar position.
• The candidate must possess a strong understanding and experience in making Journal Entries.
• Experience in handling Month End Close procedures is mandatory.
• The potential employee should have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using computer software for accounting is essential.
• The candidate should have a strong understanding of general ledger functions.
• The applicant should possess excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in all work is a must.
• The potential employee should have the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• The candidate should have a strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
