Description We have an opening for a Staff Accountant with our client based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The selected candidate will be integral to the team, handling a range of responsibilities from processing complex journal entries to participating in department-wide initiatives. This is a short-term contract to full time employment opportunity. Responsibilities • Handle the preparation of complex journal entries and account reconciliations, including cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll • Conduct monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting • Assist in the closing process at the end of each month, quarter, and year including the preparation of monthly financial close workbook • Ensure maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures to comply with GAAP • Oversee capital lease and monthly payment schedules • Manage the fixed asset ledger, including depreciation and reconciliation • Coordinate a variety of financial data, analyze it, and report in an understandable manner • Participate in various initiatives across the department • Conduct intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation • Perform month-end close and journal entries with minimal supervision • Handle recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation • Undertake ad-hoc reporting and special projects as required Requirements • Must be proficient in Accounts Receivable (AR) • General Ledger skills are required • Should be capable of handling Journal Entries • Experience with Month End Close is essential • QuickBooks proficiency is a must • Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel Robert Half puts you in the best position to succeed by advocating on your behalf and promoting you to employers.
