Description Robert Half is partnering with a construction company in Wilmington, DE who is seeking a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team located in Wilmington, Delaware. This role is pivotal in our accounting department, focusing on managing payroll, maintaining general ledger accounts, and aiding in the preparation of monthly financial statements. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. Responsibilities: • Oversee the preparation of weekly payroll for a sizeable team, ensuring accuracy in all related tax filings. • Manage and perform entries to the book of accounts, including general ledger accounts, to document business transactions. • Verify and reconcile various contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepare reports to validate transactions. • Assist in the preparation of Time & Material and AIA invoices. • Correct any errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports. • Play an active role in collection efforts. • Participate in monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements. • Conduct analysis of accounts when required. • Contribute to the accounting team's efforts to continually improve the efficiency of the department. • Support with year-end closing. • Help implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
