Staff Accountant
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant at our non-profit organization based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As a Staff Accountant, your role will be centered on full-cycle accounting with the flexibility of a hybrid working arrangement. You will report directly to the Controller and will play a vital role in maintaining our financial records and ensuring our accounting operations run smoothly. Responsibilities: • Oversee and manage the entire accounts payable and receivable processes • Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records • Maintain and update the general ledger on a regular basis • Prepare and post journal entries as part of the accounting procedures • Ensure timely completion of month-end close procedures • Act as a point of contact for accounting-related inquiries and issues • Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions as required • Process customer credit applications with precision and efficiency • Maintain accurate customer credit records and ensure their confidentiality • Collaborate with the Controller for regular reporting and updates. Requirements • Possess strong skills in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management, with proven ability to maintain accurate records and process payments in a timely manner. • Demonstrated expertise in conducting Bank Reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial policies and regulations. • Proficiency in maintaining and managing General Ledger, with the ability to track financial transactions and create detailed financial reports. • Experience in preparing and recording Journal Entries, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. • Ability to effectively manage Month End Close processes, including preparing financial statements and reports. • Strong understanding of non-profit financial management, with a commitment to the organization's mission and values. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team. • Hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. • Ethical conduct and integrity in financial management, with the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information. • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
