Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant to become an integral part of our team. The selected individual will be responsible for various accounting tasks including month end close, audit, and grant accounting. The position is based in Kansas City, Missouri, United States. Responsibilities: • Handle month end close procedures in a timely and accurate manner • Conduct thorough and detailed audit processes to ensure financial compliance • Take on the responsibility of grant accounting, ensuring all records are maintained accurately • Undertake additional accounting tasks as required to support the team • Maintain high levels of accuracy in all accounting duties • Continuously update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements • Analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, providing strategic recommendations and maintaining solutions to business and financial problems • Assist with other accounting projects as needed Requirements • Candidate must possess a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a Staff Accountant. • Proficiency in Month End Close procedures is essential. • Must have prior experience in Audit procedures and tasks. • Knowledge and experience in Grant Accounting is required. • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is mandatory. • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are necessary. • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite is desired. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines. • Must demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism.
