The Staff Accountant performs a variety of accounting duties according to established policies and procedures. The Staff Accountant also assists the Accounting Manager in all duties required by department.Job Description

Billing of Master AccountsPrintout of group turnovers and make the files for future groupsAssign Posting Master and Account Receivable numbers in Opera for future groupsReview and checkout Posting Masters on a daily basisHandle phone inquiries from internal staff as well as from transient guestsBill special accounts using ExcelDaily review & reconcile Posting Master (Accounts, e.g. Banquets, Outlets Research, etc.)Attend resume and pre-convention meetings as neededReview group contracts prior to arrival and efficiently make notes in PMS or POS systemReview open folios on a daily basisBuild solid relationship with your Colleagues Treat colleagues with respect and dignityOther duties and responsibilities may be assigned. Qualifications and Skills
A candidate for this position must possess the following applicable knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to demonstrate and provide applicable examples to support his/her competency.
Track record of delivering exceptional guest or client experienceCommunication skills are utilized a significant amount of time for training and safety purposes, and when interacting with guests and associatesAppropriate professional appearance and demeanorAbility to satisfactorily operate PC computers; familiarity with Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel), OPERA and Delphi and/or willingness to learn new software systemsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions and percentagesAbility to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memosAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organizationAbility to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizationAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situationsAbility to apply concepts of basic algebraAbility to multi-task in a fast paced environmentEducation and/or Experience
Minimum high school diploma with some college or business school courses credits in accounting. College degree is preferred. Strong organizational skills and business clerical experience is required.
