Description We are seeking a proficient Staff Accountant to support a service industry client in San Mateo, California. The selected individual will join our dynamic team, with a focus on maintaining the precision of our general ledger, aiding in the creation of financial statements, and ensuring adherence to company policies and accounting standards. This role provides a contract to permanent employment opportunity. This role requires onsite work on Mondays and Thursday. Responsibilities: • Precisely record and categorize all financial transactions to maintain the general ledger. Focus areas include cash, fixed assets, pre-paid, and lease. • Work closely with various departments such as Legal, Finance, and Strategy to ensure the prompt exchange and accuracy of financial data. • Aid in the precise and timely creation of financial reports and statements for month-end and year-end closing. • Follow internal control procedures, company policies, and accounting regulations to maintain compliance. • Assist in the preparation and submission of various regulatory filings and compliance reports including tax returns and government surveys. • Assess and enhance accounting processes and procedures regularly, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency. • Keep accurate records of all financial transactions along with supporting schedules and reconciliations. • Show initiative in resolving any issues related to the exchange of financial information between departments. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the financial services industry as a Staff Accountant or similar role • Proficiency in performing Bank Reconciliations • Ability to prepare and maintain Journal Entries • Experience with Month End Close procedures • Familiarity with NetSuite accounting software • Knowledge and experience in using Oracle financial systems Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
