Staff Accountant II
**JOB SUMMARY** The Staff Accountant II is responsible for the overall general ledger and accounting functions at Newport Meat Pacific Northwest located in Portland Oregon. They ensure timely completion of close related activities and manage risk based on analysis. Also responsible for other AP and report activities below. **FULL TIME ONSITE in Portland OR (NOT HYBRID OR REMOTE)** **WORK SCHEDULE: MON - FRI / 8am - 5pm or flexible schedule** **RESPONSIBILITIES** + Daily/Weekly Reporting + Trend analysis + Prepares month end journal entries + Completes balance sheet reconciliations + Local vendor set up + Process AP invoices through Workday + Assist purchasers with creating PO’s in Workday + Scanning documents to archive + Vendor rebate tracking + Verify daily receiving packets + Bi-weekly AP check batches in local ERP system + Support the Accounting Team on overall team management where necessary + Ensures adherence to department goals/metrics + Complete special projects as necessary **QUALIFICATIONS** **Education** + High School Diploma or GED required, Associate’s Degree or higher preferred **Experience** + 2-4 years experience in Accounts Payable or Accounting Degree or related accounting experience (for example, General Ledger, Accounts Payable) + Microsoft Office and specialized accounting / finance software ERP Systems (i.e. workday). + Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast pace environment. + Good oral and written communication skills. **Professional Skills** + Demonstrates the ability to analyze and reconcile reports + Ability to find & resolve discrepancies + Able to work cross-functionally to solve problems + Attention to detail + Strong verbal and written communication skills + Self-starter that is detail oriented + Ability to work independently and collaborate with others + Proficiency with Microsoft Office and specialized accounting / finance software ERP Systems (i.e., workday) + Advanced Excel User AFFIRMATIVE ACTION STATEMENT: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
