Staff Accountant II

Position Summary:

Staff accounting position responsible for various activities in the Financial Reporting Group. Assist in the generation of the executive reporting package on a monthly basis.  Assist in performing the international consolidation process on a monthly basis including analysis of intercompany and general ledger accounts. Assist with the preparation of the quarterly and yearly reporting requirements with the SEC and the schedules required as part of the external audit.  Special projects as required by the department manager and supervisor. 

 

Following the onboarding period, this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule. Working a minimum of 3 days a week in the Montgomery, AL STERIS location is expected with the ability to be in the office more as needed.

 

Schedule: Monday - Thursday hours: 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM (30 minute lunch) & Friday hours: 7-11 AM

What You'll do as a Staff Accountant II: Analysis of various balance sheet and profit and loss accounts as part of the monthly close process Conduct intercompany/general account analysis which includes reconciliations and financial statement research Prepare and transmit weekly payroll and attendance records to corporate finance Research and analyze to prepare and calculate monthly and quarterly accruals Maintain and reconcile various balance sheet accounts monthly Prepare workpapers and input journal entries both monthly and recurring Assist the AP Coordinator with processing of vouchers for inventory purchases Support the monthly, quarterly and annual budget and forecast processes Maintain monthly internal reporting package Aid in obtaining documentation requested by internal and external auditors Track and manage capital projects and spending Manage special projects as required Perform all other duties as assigned The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed: Bachelors Degree Required  Two (2) or more years of accounting experience Prefer Oracle or similar ERP system experience Proficient with MS Office suite of products (especially Excel) Experience with process improvement is desired Experience with MS Office Macros and Microsoft Power Apps (PowerBI) strongly preferred Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to be able to communicate with other departments Attention to detail, time management, and deadline awareness What we offer:
