**Where you’ll work:**
This is a hybrid onsite/remote opportunity where you will report to one of Epsilon’s corporate offices (Weaverville, NC | Greenville, SC | Denver, CO) and have the flexibility to work from home based on business needs.

**An average day:**
As Staff Accountant II, you will support the Company's general accounting activities and payroll process.
In this position you will:
+ Prepare and submit invoices, handle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
+ Reconcile account activity and statements.
+ Maintain the Company’s time and expense system (Unanet) to ensure proper addition/removal of employees and subcontractors and validate project workforce set-up and roles.
+ Prepare audit schedules and assist/coordinate audit of accounting statements/reports.
+ Assist with the preparation of reports to support Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) compliance and Company financial reviews.
+ Responsible for the preparation and processing of the semi-monthly payroll for several hundred employees using Unanet and Paycor (Epsilon’s HRIS).
+ Prepare, analyze, and process payroll transactions in a timely manner, such as payments of hours worked, personal time off, and employee benefits.
+ Monitor federal, state, and local taxes, Social Security contributions, employee benefit contributions and deductions, garnishments, and other deductions to ensure accuracy of individual pay and manage state and federal tax accounts.
+ Prepare and analyze periodic payroll reports, payroll schedules, and payroll-related journal entries.
+ Responsible for coordinating with the payroll service provider and Human Resources on issues affecting company payroll and monitors time entries to ensure compliance with DCAA time entry standards.
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Associate degree in an accounting discipline and two (2) or more years of related experience with a large company; a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline with one (1) or more years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Knowledge of federal and state laws relating to payroll.
+ Intermediate to advanced computer literacy and proficiency in using MS office programs and accounting and HR information systems.
+ Strong ethics and a high level of personal and professional integrity.
+ Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
+ Effective oral and written communication skills. Must possess a high degree of interpersonal relationship skills and can work and relate well with co-workers and managers.
+ Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and work independently.
+ Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
+ Experience with government contracting accounting standards, processes, and procedures, knowledge of DCAA requirements, and/or experience with Paycor and Unanet are preferred, but not required.
**Other Requirements:**
+ Occasional travel to a Company location (Weaverville, NC | Greenville, SC | Denver, CO) for meetings and possible out of state travel for training/professional development opportunities.
