Staff Accountant (Remote-US)

Our hospitals, care sites and clinicians are recognized for clinical and operational excellence. **SUMMARY** Staff accountants report to the Accounting Managers and are responsible for providing accounting and financial support to ensure adequate internal controls and efficiency of procedures and processes within the Accounting department, which ensure the accuracy of financial reporting and accounting. **ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS** + Primary support for Accounting Manager in month-end closes. + Responsible for preparation of detailed account analysis, journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations. + Perform budget vs. actual analysis, system balancing, and all other tasks required to close month-end on a timely basis and maintain G/L account integrity. + Ensures that all Bon Secours Mercy Health Accounting Policies are being applied. + Must be able to demonstrate active knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles in daily execution of accounting functions and tasks. + Provide coverage for other Staff Accountants as needed. + All other job-related duties as assigned. **QUALIFICATIONS** + Education: BS/BA Required. Specialty/Major: Accounting + 1-3 years of progressively responsible accounting experience required + 3-5 years preferred + Able to work 8 AM to 5 PM in Eastern time zone **OTHER REQUIREMENTS** + Experience with Microsoft Office, especially with Pivot tables, Macros, & advanced Excel formulas a plus. + Must have exceptional analytical skills and motivation to investigate unusual ledger activity. + Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and have strong rapport with the executive team, colleagues, and subordinates to efficiently resolve issues. + Self-directed and resourceful with the ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks and projects with exhibited follow-through and initiative. + Demonstrates proficiency in use of core financial systems including but not limited to general ledger and Accounts payable.
