**Job Description Summary**
As a Staff Application Operations Engineer specializing in Image creation and Shopfloor for the GE Aerospace Digital Workplace team, you will be responsible for the creation, deployment, and management of PC images, engineering of PC systems, and management of PC software across the globe. This role is critical in ensuring the seamless operation and optimization of PC systems, driving continuous improvements, and enhancing the user experience. You will collaborate closely with various teams to design and implement robust PC solutions that meet organizational policies and security standards. Your efforts will directly impact the productivity and efficiency of our 60,000+ user base, making you a key player in our digital transformation journey.
**Job Description**
**Roles and Responsibilities**
In this role, you will:
+ Lead the creation and maintenance of PC images, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and security standards.
+ Configure shopfloor PC systems to meet the needs of the organization, ensuring optimal performance and stability.
+ Design, develop and manage the deployment and operation of PC software, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements and organizational policies.
+ Monitor and track the operational health of shopfloor PC systems and software, identifying opportunities for improvement.
+ Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the CMDB for PCs, for PCs by continuously tracking CIs and managing them in alignment with actual PC usage and status.
+ Develop and maintain clear and concise end-user and support documentation, including SOPs, guidelines, and training materials.
+ Own and be accountable for identifying opportunities to improve and enhance the overall user experience with PC systems and software.
+ Ensure that all PC systems and Software including Images adhere to organizational policies and security standards, implementing necessary controls and configurations.
+ Provide training and support to end-users and support teams, ensuring they are well-equipped to use and manage PC systems and software effectively.
+ Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline PC and Software management processes and reduce manual intervention.
+ Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track the performance and compliance of PC systems and Software.
+ Lead the response to and resolution of high-severity incidents related to PC systems and software, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
+ Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of PC systems and software.
+ Manage relationships with PC and software vendors & depots, ensuring they meet service level agreements and deliver high-quality services.
+ Ensure that PC systems and software comply with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
+ Lead and participate in projects related to the deployment and enhancement of PC systems and software, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
+ Work closely with IT security, network teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and operation of PC systems and software.
+ Continuously monitor and analyze operating system performance, identifying and implementing enhancements to optimize the user experience and system efficiency.
+ Oversee the lifecycle management of PC hardware and software in the shopfloor space, ensuring timely upgrades and replacements.
+ Implement and manage security measures for PC systems and software, including antivirus, encryption, and patch management.
+ Participate in new technology pilots and programs to ensure end-user support readiness for go-live launches.
+ Drive initiatives to increase customer satisfaction by improving support team quality, knowledge, and training.
+ Communicate effectively both within immediate team, horizontal partners, and GE Aerospace leadership.
+ **Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors.
+ Extensive experience within an operational setting, specifically in PC and software management.
+ Professional experience with PC image creation, PC engineering, and software management.
+ Professional experience in the Digital Technology domain.
