About the Internal Audit Group at American Express:

Our Internal Audit Group is a worldwide function with 300+ team members and offices across nine countries within American Express. Our mission is to protect and enhance organizational value by providing independent, objective, risk-based assurance, advisory services and to influence the way the company manages risk.

We are committed to growing our audit staff significantly as we continue to expand and enhance the Internal Audit Group. Our assurance and risk professionals have diverse backgrounds including internal controls, consumer compliance, technology, operational risk, financial accounting, data analytics, and banking operations. Our audit teams align to key risk areas and business units to ensure IAG can provide comprehensive and risk-based audit coverage. In addition, IAG has a Professional Practices group responsible for managing audit operations, quality, and standards; regulatory relations; reporting; training and professional development; and key internal capabilities and technologies.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Staff Auditor who is passionate about improving operational efficiency and reducing risks to ensure organizational integrity. In this role, you will play a key role in evaluating and improving American Express’ risk management, control, and governance processes.

About the Team:

The successful candidate will work within and support the IAG’s Global Services Group (GSG) team. Comprised of key internal and external servicing functions, GSG delivers customer care to Card Members, Merchants, and Commercial clients around the world. This servicing includes key processes which support the customer throughout their relationship with American Express. These key processes include servicing new accounts, investigations of disputes, complaints, and fraud claims, general customer service, and credit and collections management.

Key Responsibilities:

Participate as a key team member on GSG audits, responsible for owning core audit tasks to assess compliance and effectiveness of processes within this business unit. Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, ensuring that these controls are well-designed and implemented.  Identify potential risks, evaluate the impact, and recommend measures to mitigate these risks. Document key controls and control evaluations to ensure audit documentation is clear, well-organized, comprehensive, and supports the overall audit conclusions.  Collaborate with the GSG business unit providing insights and suggestions for process improvements, following up o recommendations to ensure that corrective actions have been implemented and are effective. Collaborate with audit teams to understand the data behind key processes, risk and controls to develop analytic control tests and analyze and interpret their results. Monitor audit analytics, assess results, & use data to tell the business story and validate audit findings. Minimum Qualifications:

1+ years of relevant accounting or internal or external audit experience Bachelor of Art (BA), Bachelor of Science (BS), or equivalent degree in accounting or finance related field Effective written and verbal communications skills, ability to clearly present control analysis and recommendations with professionalism  Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the banking or financial services industries within a public accounting, finance, and/or internal audit function.  Professional certification (CIA, CISA CPA or equivalent) Experience with using data analytic tools, data visualization, key risk indicators (KRIs), key performance indicators (KPIs), and scorecards / dashboards Proficient in Tableau, Power Bi, Microsoft Excel 

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
