Staff Auditor
**Job Summary** The Staff Auditor will lead, conduct, and assist in the performance of contract compliance audits. Responsible for identifying anomalies in large structured and unstructured datasets, evaluating process enhancement opportunities, and formulating improvement recommendations. This position will coordinate external audits of the Company with Non-Operators and regulatory agencies as required. **Duties and Responsibilities** + Lead, conduct, and assist with all aspects of JV/Vendor audit including but not limited to scheduling, planning, balloting, testing, monitoring others work, review of peer work, clearing review notes, selling the claims, reporting, billing, and solving the audits performed by self or others. + Evaluates design of, monitoring of, and performs testing of internal controls for management’s assessment of internal control pursuant to the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002. + Analyze large datasets using diverse data inputs to provide management-quality outputs and conclusions to provide value to the company. + Document functions, activities, process objectives, risks, and controls in assigned areas to determine the nature of operations and the adequacy of the system of internal control to achieve established objectives. + Conducts operational, financial, SOX testing, consulting work, joint venture, and vendor audits to provide assurance, as assigned. + Present findings and results to external auditees and internal stakeholders to inspire timely action and resolution. + Obtain, analyze, and appraise the evidential material as a basis for an informed and objective opinion that the internal accounting and financial controls of the reporting entities are adequate, efficient, and reliable. + Occasional out-of-town travel may be required. + Other duties as assigned. **Skills and Competencies** + Strong communication skills, both written and oral + Concisely and efficiently communicate and report processes, findings, and project status updates to senior management via written and verbal reports. + Proficient computer skills and advanced in Microsoft Excel + Proven team player + Drives results - Consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances + Instills trust - Gaining the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity. + Ensures accountability - Holding self and others accountable to meet commitments **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in accounting, management, data analytics, or related field or a business degree with emphasis in accounting, or data analytics. + Minimum of two (2) years of related experience + An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test. **Preferred Qualifications** + CPA, Master's degree preferred. CIA and other designations beneficial. + 30+ hours of accounting coursework + Public accounting experience + SAP, Spotfire, PowerBI, and/or Python Scripting + Oil and Gas Industry knowledge **Physical Requirements and Working Conditions** + Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping. + Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. + Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
