What you’ll do
As a Staff Data Engineer at Convergint, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our next-generation data platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to standardize data collection, improve data quality, and build scalable data solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Lead the architectural evolution of our data platform, focusing on cloud-native solutions and best practices in data engineering. Design data models for optimal storage and analytical use cases. Design and implement robust ETL processes to integrate data from multiple ERP systems and other data sources into our central data warehouse. Work with Technology, Product, and stakeholders to help develop and maintain a comprehensive data model that facilitates complex reporting and analysis. Collaborate with Product Managers and UX leads to create data products that meet the needs of various stakeholders. Help implement data governance practices and ensure data quality across all systems. Optimize data pipeline performance and scalability to handle increasing data volumes and complexity. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the overall growth of the data engineering team. Participate in the evaluation and adoption of new technologies to enhance our data capabilities.
What You’ll Need
8+ years of experience in data engineering or related field Expert-level knowledge of SQL and data modeling techniques Extensive experience with cloud-based data platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure) Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or similar languages Experience with modern ETL tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow, dbt) Familiarity with data governance and MDM (Master Data Management) concepts Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a complex, multi-ERP environment Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements:
Minimum Experience: 8+ years information technology or equivalent
Preferred Experience: (but not required):
Experience with Microsoft Fabric suite or similar cloud-native data tools Knowledge of financial systems and reporting, particularly in a global context Familiarity with PowerBI or other BI tools Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines Background in systems engineering, integration or experience working with diverse data sources
