As a Senior Data Scientist, you will join our Center for Innovation in Diagnostics developing new analysis methods, novel biomarkers, and AI/ML algorithms to meet unmet clinical needs in neurology, metabolic disorders, oncology, and infectious disease.

This role will have a preference for candidates in the Boston area, will also consider those in other areas as well.

Your role:

You will design, implement, and validate models utilizing in vitro diagnostics data to identify disease related signatures from clinical specimens such as blood, urine, saliva, or tissue. Additionally, you will work with interdisciplinary teams on multi-modal projects that incorporate in vitro diagnostics, in vivo imaging, and other data sources.You will manage, analyze, and interpret data generated by our project teams and academic collaboration partners. You will develop methods and software tools in the context of diagnosis, prognosis, selection, and monitoring, of patients to enable diagnostic solutions for research or for translation into clinical use.You will provide expertise for technology scouting and development of new business opportunities in laboratory testing, point-of-care assays, and digital solutions for medical diagnosticsYou will support a broad range of projects, coordinate activities with colleagues at other sites and provide oversight for other data scientists or contractors.You will evaluate and document novel data analytic solutions for publications, presentations, IP filings, and regulatory submissions.

Your expertise:

PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or other related scientific discipline is expected, although a MS with more extensive work experience may be consideredMinimum of 5 years’ experience in academic research or industry R&D settingExperience with bioinformatics tools and databases, including both proteomic and genomic data processing and interpretationKnowledge of biology related to the understanding of disease-specific biomarkers in areas such as neurology, cardiology, oncology, and infectious diseasesExpertise in machine learning and artificial intelligence, as well as programming with languages such as R, C/C++, or PythonEffective English skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to work effectively in a team environmentWillingness to travel up to 20%, and flexibility with respect to working on-site in the Boston area and remotely
