Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/.   Key responsibilities + Primarily functions as the Lead Development Engineer on a Product Development project providing a range of capabilities depending upon the skill level and resources of supporting groups. + Direct and coordinate all activities pertaining to development engineering responsibilities. + Key liaison between design team, quality, supply chain, planning and external sites to develop and launch a product into the marketplace. + Assess and communicate resource needs and timing to develop product through all phases. + Assess and communicate all risks to project and product. + Develop strategy for component development, device assembly, packaging, and sterilization. + Key influencer on site selection and supplier selection. + Ensure Product Management (PM) COE resources are accountable to fulfilling all technical and procedural requirements. + Provide performance feedback to PM COE resources and other team members. + Mentor associates in career development + Communicate project updates / risks to management + Participate in customer interface events throughout entire lifecycle of product. + Participate as expert witness in legal proceedings as needed. + Consultant to lifecycle engineering for design, manufacturing, and quality issues + Accountable to ensuring PM COE capabilities and standardizations are current, appropriate, and effective. + Partner with team PM Manager on project. **Qualifications** + Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required. + A minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience is required. + Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), ISO 9000 (International Organization for Standardization), MDD (Medical Devices Directive) is preferred. + Knowledge of Standard manufacturing performance metrics such as: Manufacturing cycle time, Yield, Throughput, Capacity Utilization, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), WIP inventory / turns, Cost of Goods; Lead time is preferred. + Knowledge of Process Excellence methodologies, Design Excellence methodologies or Lean Manufacturing methodologies is preferred. + Preferable proficiency in manufacturing simulation and analysis software. + Preferable proficiency in CAD software.
