THE POSITION

As a Staff DevOps Engineer you will play a pivotal role in evolving our cloud infrastructure and operations to new heights of efficiency, security, and automation. This strategic position demands a high level of expertise and leadership to enhance our cloud capabilities, aligning them closely with our overarching business goals. Your extensive experience with AWS, Terraform, and Datadog will be instrumental in architecting a cloud ecosystem that facilitates agile development, ensures maximum uptime, and supports scalable expansion.

 

THE GAME PLAN
Everyone on our team has a part to play

Lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS, applying industry best practices for security and efficiency. Spearhead the development and maintenance of automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform, enhancing cloud deployment processes and management. Utilize Datadog alongside other advanced monitoring tools to conduct proactive monitoring, analysis, and optimization of cloud services and applications. Drive cross-functional collaboration with software development, operations, and other teams to develop innovative cloud solutions that propel the company's strategic objectives. Initiate and guide cloud automation projects, identifying and executing opportunities to streamline workflows, minimize manual operations, and boost system performance and reliability. Strategize on cloud resource management, encompassing cost optimization, security compliance, and disaster recovery frameworks. Keep abreast of cutting-edge cloud technologies and trends, recommending the integration of new tools and methodologies to sustain a competitive advantage.

 

THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

Profound expertise in AWS cloud services and architecture, backed by relevant certifications. Advanced proficiency in infrastructure automation using Terraform and adeptness in scripting for automation purposes (e.g., Python, Shell). Comprehensive understanding of cloud monitoring and analytics, particularly with tools such as Datadog. Proven leadership in managing cloud automation projects and enhancing cloud infrastructure and operations. Exceptional problem-solving abilities, suited for a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. Outstanding communication and teamwork skills, with a proven history of effective cross-departmental collaboration. A fervent commitment to continuous learning, innovation, and the pursuit of excellence in cloud technologies and practices.

The applicable salary range for this position is $158,000 - $198,000, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
